We find the future stars of the dressage and showjumping worlds,
to develop and train for future sale.
Here is how we do it.
1. IDENTIFY TOP HORSE TALENT
Nova Equestrian has dedicated talent scouts across Europe, frequently inspecting and trying horses. The chosen horses have the exceptional physical and mental traits required to become successful competition horses in the future, including three high quality paces.
2. TRIPLE-CHECK HEALTH AND SOUNDNESS
For every single Nova horse, we have three highly regarded and independent veterinarians, each from a different country, evaluate the horse’s existing x-rays already taken. If the horse gets three ticks of approval based on x-rays, it progresses to our own comprehensive vetting procedure including a whole new set of x-rays complete with back and neck images, plus scoping and a filmed clinical examination. The three veterinarians again review these results, along with at least one insurance company to ensure the horse will be accepted for insurance coverage. This process is to ensure our clients maximum safety for their investment. We only select the horses that meet our high standards, and we make no compromises.
3. RESEARCH AND EVALUATE PEDIGREE
It’s not just what you see on the outside that is important, what you don’t see is just as significant. A horse’s pedigree and history is often a good predictor of its future prospects, so we thoroughly investigate these details for each horse we consider.
4. DEVELOP WITH PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS
When a Nova horse is selected (and most are not!), it will be transferred to one of the Nova Equestrian team riders in Europe or the US, each a top professional rider, who will train and develop the horse further. Each horse is an individual with its own unique capability, so we take care to set customised goals for the training and we have a system in place to regularly review the plan. This ensures no horse’s education is rushed or pressured. We believe good training takes time and care. The price of each horse is adjusted and increased commensurate with education.
5. FIND A PERFECT MATCH
When the horse is ready, we go to great lengths to find the perfect match between rider and horse. We want you to succeed as much as you do!
